Divorce Order

British Columbia Divorce > Glossary of British Columbia Divorce Terms
A divorce order indicates that the divorce was granted. However, it is not considered to be proof that you are divorced. The reason for this is that the divorce is not final until 31 days after it is granted, if no appeal is filed. A Certificate of Divorce is the only document provided by the court that is considered to be proof of the divorce because it is only issued when the divorce is final.
